What Is a PRP Facial?

PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma — a concentrate derived from a small sample of your own blood. Platelets are loaded with growth factors that signal your skin to repair, regenerate, and produce collagen. In a PRP Facial, this concentrate is applied topically during a microneedling session, allowing it to penetrate deeply into the dermis through the micro-channels created.

The result: targeted collagen stimulation, improved texture, reduced fine lines, and a gradual but lasting improvement in skin quality — all using your own biology.

PRP Facial vs. PRF Facial — What's the Difference?

Solace offers both PRP and PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) facials. Here's how they differ:

Dr. Flávio will recommend which protocol is better for your skin concerns during your consultation.

What Skin Concerns Does PRP Facial Treat?

PRP facials are clinically used for:

Patients with active acne, blood disorders, or certain medications are not candidates. Dr. Flávio screens all patients during the consultation.

What to Expect During and After a PRP Facial at Solace

Your session lasts approximately 60–75 minutes:

  1. Blood draw — a small vial of blood (about the size of a standard lab draw) is taken from your arm
  2. Centrifuge processing — we spin the blood to separate and concentrate the platelets
  3. Topical numbing — a numbing cream is applied to your face for 20–30 minutes
  4. Microneedling — we perform microneedling while applying the PRP serum, allowing it to infuse deeply
  5. Recovery guidance — you leave with a post-care protocol. Expect 24–48 hours of mild redness.

How Many PRP Facial Sessions Do You Need?

Most patients see meaningful improvement after 2–3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Skin continues to improve for up to 3–6 months after each session as collagen remodels. Many patients do an initial series of 3 then one maintenance session per year.

Results are gradual and natural-looking — the skin improves from within rather than looking 'done.'
